UPDATE 24/12/2014 Tabby was finally allowed home from the vets today just in time for Christmas.
Over the coming weeks we will continue to clean and dress his back paw daily. Tabby finds this a painful experience and he gives out little meows of protest but he will sit still and let you tend to him. The vet is still optimistic that his paw can be saved. The next challenge is to groom Tabby's coat. Because he is long haired, it is a little mated and he still has wee bits of plastic tangled in it. This we will do over the next few days.
Despite everything this wee boy has been through, he is very trusting of people and loves nothing more than to snuggle up and have cuddles.
We would also like to say a big thank you to Heidi and Ludwig who have taken such good care of Tabby and to everyone who has sent good wishes and donated towards Tabby's veterinary fees.
So Tabby would like to say thank you and wishes everyone a Happy Christmas xx

***29 November 2014 *** We received a call on Saturday evening about a cat that was found in the middle of Quay Road that was very scared and shocked . We went to collect the cat from the kind man who took him in and kept him safe secure but nothing could've prepared us for what we saw the poor cat who turns out to be about a 5 month old kitten that someone had seen fit to throw on a fire the poor soul had molten plastic stuck to his fur the pads on his feet peeled off leaving his feet raw he also lost a claw has infected toes his whiskers have been burnt off 1 side of his face. He had to be sedated to be assessed and has been on a drip and pain medication since saturday night he was sedated on Sunday again to try and clean him up and have some patches of his fur clipped. He also has breathing problems which the vet is hoping will not turn to pneumonia. The vet said she has never seen a cat in this condition and the cat would not of jumped on to the fire himself.
The kitten is a greyish brown long haired kitten with a little bit of white on it. If anyone has any information about this kitten we would really appreciate it you can contact us on 0860762228 / 0864038888 or the Donegal ISPCA on 0866054943 Thankyou (if you would like to help donations can be made via our idonate page

Tiger needs veterinary funding
We were with holding Tiger and his brothers story in hope that we would find their family but it is looking unlikely. Tiger was found lying on the road unable to walk on his back legs unfortunately his brother was found a good distance from him dead. tiger was taking to the vets and was admitted for 4 days and had xrays he has a fractured femur and possible nerve damage he will need complete cage rest for at least the next 6 weeks. He has a check up at the vets this week they are hoping the cage rest will give the bone time to heal and the nerve damage to correct if not he may need to have his leg amputated .
Tiger is being kept very comfortable by his foster mummy Esther. If you would like to donate towards tigers vet bill we would really appreciate your help thank you so much in advance. If donating to tiger please send us a message to let us know the funds for tiger thank you
